Zehnder America is proud to join the Home Ventilating Institute and to earn industry recognition for our ComfoAir 350 HRV as being the most energy efficient Heat Recovery Ventilator certified so far. With Apparent Sensible Effectiveness above 90%, Sensible Recovery Efficiency of 85%-88%, and power consumption as low as .30 watts per cfm, the ComfoAir 350 HRV has crossed the threshold to the next generation of Heat Recovery Ventilation in North America. After two long years of designing and building cutting edge solar powered homes, the nineteen collegiate teams competing in the 2011 DOE Solar Decathlon had their days in the sun. Zehnder was a proud sponsor of two teams in the competition and we are happy to share their successes. Middlebury College was a groundbreaking team in this year's competition as the first team ever to come from a liberal arts school without a technical program. They left quite a few engineers shaking their heads though as they got first place finishes in three of the ten contests and a fourth place finish overall....

Sunset magazine has opened the Sunset Smart Homes, which were built from the ground up in Palo Alto to highlight the best in sustainable and beautiful design with the latest in home technology and automation. Zehnder proudly participated in this exciting project with the donation of our ComfoSystems heat recovery ventillation systems. The completed Smart Homes will be featured in the November 2011 issue of Sunset magazine. The public also had the opportunity to tour the Smart Homes during September and October.

The U.S. Department of Energy Solar Decathlon is an international competition that challenges 20 collegiate teams to design, build, and operate the most attractive, effective, and energy-efficient solar powered house. The winner of the competition is the team that best blends affordability, consumer appeal, and design excellence with optimal energy production.
